Dovetail typically installs a subsystem to record and display the energy produced by your solar electric system. The production information is collected automatically every 15 minutes from the system inverter(s), and other on-site sensors. It is transmitted to an off-site, secure computer database via the Internet. At many sites, we also collect and display key parameters that affect solar production, including the amount of sun light (solar irradiance), the ambient temperature, and the module temperature. Our monitoring subsystem provides you and Dovetail real-time web-based information on your solar system. It reports valuable system information through dynamic graphics, live and historical system performance data, alert notification, and greenhouse gas (GHG) avoidance numbers. It is accessible using a web browser, and other web enabled devices. PPA providers can be easily provided reports for production tracking and billing purposes. Using this technology, Dovetail also offers remote monitoring for your solar electric system. Our software monitors system status and communicates with our office to relay any errors instantly. Clients can also receive emails or other notifications on selected changes in system status. These capabilities enable you to not only track your solar power production, but also ensure that it stays reliable, efficient, and minimize any downtime.
